I learned a lot about counselling and all topics were very interesting for me (e.g. criminal psychology, sexual abuse, crime). I have become many exciting impressions of Indian culture. Mrs. Dh. Ph. Bansali is very professional and I highly recommend this internship.

My internship has been an amazing experience! I came with the wish to learn as much as I possibly can in this period of time and that was exactly what you helped me achieve! I loved the practical cases and the discussions concerning the psychological background. I would have liked to spent even more time and talking for longer hours because the sessions always flew by so fast and afterwards a lot of questions popped up in my head. I really appreciated the individuality of the internship also your patience and dedication! It helped me reflect a lot on my work and also my future! Thank you so much for everything!

I was really happy with the internship. I feels it has given me a much better understanding of people in general but also how to shape my interaction with them to be a better help and be more understanding. I think after hearing about all the different cases, it really made me think about all the feeling and Situation somebody could be dealing with which isn’t obvious at first glance.

I enjoyed the internship very much. It was nice to get insights into many different topics such as violence, sexual abuse or LGBTQ. I found the exchange on the topics very good. Of course, the cases were particularly interesting. First of all, dealing with them yourself and then discussing them and finding out how the therapy actually went in practice has brought me a lot. The support from Dr. Reena Bhansali was fantastic. She explained everything well and was always available for questions.

I really liked the open atmosphere and that we could always ask all kind of questions! The mixture between case studies and presentations and the flexible schedule were also great.
Sometimes the fact that the sessions are being recorded was holding me back from sharing personal experiences or opinions, especially if it came to very sensitive topics. But I do get that some interns want to rewatch the sessions. It did not affect the overall experience but I just though I let you know.

The internship was very interesting and instructive. It was extremely exciting to get to know psychological counselling in a completely different culture and to see the similarities but also the differences between the problems of patients in India and Germany. Reena is very committed, motivating and takes time for questions and for explanations about the individual cases and general background information about the country, religion and people in India. I was able to take a lot away from the internship, especially what to consider in initial conversations with patients and that often the most important factors for the problems are those that are not expressed.

Dr. Bhansali shared her cases with us in a lively way. We learnt much about the indien culture and we got a lot of valuable tips for a counseling situation. She met us interns with a lot of empathy! Thank you!

I thought the internship was really interesting and insightful. I got a very comprehensive introduction to psychological counseling. It was the first time that I could apply my theoretical knowlege in psychology on real life cases. The cases were diverse and every one added to a better understanding of people's complex behavioral and emotional issues. I learned a lot about cultural and societal backgrounds in India which is important to understand the cases. For a psychologist, intercultural skills are vital since we are living in a diverse society. So overall, the internship was really valuable.

The internship was really eye-opening and interesting. To be able to discuss old counseling cases and even further to be involved in ongoing cases felt like an opportunity. Really fast, the importance of knowledge of cultural differences became apparent. So to take the freedom to research, think and combine this research in an attempt to provide the best psychological help you can give someone was shown to be most utter important. Dr. Bhansali meet everyone on eye level and answered every question we had with quality and empathy. So I would recommend this internship to anyone who wants to work on actual cases themselves, learn from someone working directly in the field, and to expand their horizon.
